Nagpur City Police Commissionerate
With a view to promoting greater transparency and accountability in the functioning of every public authority, enabling citizens to access information under the control of public authorities, laying down a practical framework for the right to information, and for the constitution of the Central Information Commission and State Information Commissions along with matters connected therewith, the Right to Information Act, 2005 has been enacted.
As per Section 4(1), every public authority shall —
(a) Maintain all records duly catalogued and indexed in a manner that facilitates the right to information under this Act. All records suitable for computerisation shall be computerised within a reasonable time, subject to availability of resources, and connected through appropriate networks so that access to such records is facilitated.
